Here is the run down from the Western European Cup last Friday. Having had no real issues with bodyweight this time and training that little bit heavier in the gym than normal. At the comp I weighed in at 73.6Kgs. Opening on 300Kg on the squat we went to the World and European record of 310Kgs. Being pleased with this I attempted a 317.5Kg lift but with a few issues with the racks and maybe just a bit too heavier for the day I failed it. Onto the bench next I did 3 good lifts ending on a Western European Cup Record of 215Kgs and also a national record in Great Britain. The first Deadlilft was enough to give me the European Total record of 767.5Kgs on my second attempt I dropped 252.5Kgs at lock out and with a change about we put the weight up to 260 for a shot at the World total Record. This day it was just a bit too heavy
I would like to thank my sponsors for helping me with all aspects on the training and for the help I have received from NRG Fuel with my supplements and also to Titan Support systems for the best Powerlifting kit about.
Well here we are I have just done the final session of my build up towards this year’s Western European Cup. I think it is fair to say I am now fully battered and the next few days rest up to the comp will be welcomed with open arms. The high lights of this week are a 250Kg Deadlift for a double, 207.5kgs on the bench for 2 singles. The squat was 300Kgs for a double and all done in my competition kit. My thanks goes out to the guys who have helped me in the gym and been there when I need a spot and a squeeze into my kit. My sponsors, Nrg Fuel for the best supplements on the market, also to Titan Support systems for the best Powerlifting Kit around.
This time next week the event will be all over and I will hopefully be a very happy chappy and achieved the lifts I want and have trained hard for, fingers crossed eh and let’s hope all goes well.
Here is the video from this week hope you guys enjoy it.
Here we are a only a few weeks away from the Western European Cup, this week’s training has gone ok the squat was not as good as I wanted but it was the first session with a full suit on and it felt a bit strange. The top set was 285Kgs for 2 sets of 2 and they not as planned but hey such is even superman has a off day. It has been a busy week and the other lifts went well the bench was 197.5Kg for 2 sets of 2 also. Deadlift was 235 for the same so they were much better than the squat went. This weekend is a rest weekend so I hope to catch up on sleep and start to focus toward the last week’s training. I have done a video also for you guys to see, bit of a change of music to this one hope you enjoy
Well guys it has been a while now since I updated my blog, so here goes. The last few week I had a drop back week and a sort of deload in the weights nothing too light but I drop back and the weights alter and so do the reps. I jump back up to 5s and after doing the lower reps it really gets the breathing going. This week it is back to normal weights and low reps after all there is 3 weeks training left till the Western Europeans. This week I worked up to 270 on the Squat, A try out with a new short, well that was fun to say the least. Deadlifts were 222.5Kgs. I have started to add some kit now because it is getting close to the comp and I now need to get into the comp groove with my lifts. The squat was still straps down and next week I will be putting the straps up. I have sorted out a video from the week, you will see the fun on the bench and let’s hope it gets better. I do find that the bench shirt is way different to other bits of kit it def needs more work with to get the shirt working right and in the groove. The shirt is the new Lower neckline shirt by Titan, and I am loving the new funky colors they are producing.
I would also like to say a big Thanks you to the guys in the Gym who go out of their way to help spot me during the sessions. You guys are the Tops, Pete, Big Nic, Kurt “the unit”,Hoggmiester, just to mention a few. THANKS GUY’S
