Back onTrack

I have just released I have not updated my blog for a while; to be honest there has not been much going on. The main news is the change of plan about the European masters; I won’t be doing that now. I feel there is not much time to get into shape for the event so I have withdrawn from that comp. However I am now going to lift at the Western Europeans in September. I feel this is going to be a better event for me. Being fully fit and able to train right for the comp will make a big difference, a big THANK YOU goes out to a good mate of mine Bobby Doyle, with his help I am now fully fit and able to put my body through its paces in the build-up to the Sept comp.  I have set myself a program out and made a few alterations and tweaked a few things and hopefully it will all pay off. I have new kit also from Titan Support systems and being the best manufacturer of Powerlifting apparel what with my hard Training and the best kit it should make for a winning performance. From next week I am back to four days training and looking forward to being back in the gym as normal. Now we are back to normal I will be updating my blog a lot more often and try to do it weekly again

On another note I would like to wish a mate of mine a speedy recovery Joe Bullock tore his bicep last week and is now out for a while, hang in there buddy it will be ok in time trust me I know that only too well

Back Training

It has been a while since I updated my blog. I am now feeling more like myself and able to train fully, so that is good news for me.  It has been time for reflection and now that the European master’s is only a few weeks away I have decided to pull out of this event. There is o point in lifting with a few short weeks training and I don’t feel like I will be doing myself credit. I am now looking at lifting later in the year and hopefully get something out that is a true reflection of how my training has gone. This weekend was the British seniors and I hear that the guys and girls did well there; shame about the numbers but with the change of date and venue there was bound to be a few people who would not be able to make it there.  Also I see there is some banter going on about me and Paul cooper “AKA the deadlifter” going head to head at the Classic Powerlifting in September. We will see it depends on how things pan out with work and life in general. The inaugural Classic Powerlifting has gone also and that seemed to have gone down well, I am not to sure what will happen now with that and what direction the IPF will go in from now on.  I have had my new kit on from Titan and the squat suit is now fitting me and feels great I am really looking forward to having a run out in that later in the year

Injury and British Open

Here we are a few weeks after the European open and things are now looking much better on the injury front. We have since found out there was a tear on my right trap not the rumboid. So that was good news and I am subsequently having that treated and it is on the mend. I have decided I won’t be competing at the forthcoming British Open in a few weeks, I feel that I cannot do myself credit and would rather miss it and come back stronger for the next comp.

I have also been nominated for the European masters in July. The benefits of being old eh you get 2 chances at a European title. I am starting to train and hopefully now able to get back to some sort of training and see if I can get back to some form and able to do the masters the link of the lifters is below if anyone wants to see the nominated competitors

I also have to say thank you to Titan for my new kit and I look forward to using it in the next few weeks, they are now doing some really funky Powerbelts  I got a Croc skin belt now how cool is that.

Well there is nothing else really to report at the moment and hopefully after this week I can get back to some training and keep the blog updated on the progress.
